July 2007 Marketing Briefs:
- Sarah Peifer, a marketing specialist with The Preiss Co., a provider of off-campus student housing for campuses including N.C. State University, has been named 2007 Business Manager of the Year by College Newspaper Business & Advertising Managers Inc.
- Strategic Guru has received a contract to develop and implement a marketing strategy for Monarch Performance Group, a Michigan-based workforce performance development company.
- R+M, a Cary-based brand development and management agency, will spearhead branding efforts of Cary Economic Development, a division of the Cary Chamber of Commerce. The agency also has received a bronze Telly Award for its Lowes Foods 30-second television spot, and has entered a pro-bono partnership with Artspace, Raleigh.
- MMI Associates Inc., Raleigh, has received the 2007 Videographer Award of Distinction for its efforts in planning and producing a podcast, “Major Dutch Van Kirk.” Patty Briguglio, MMI president, has been named to the Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council board of directors for a second year of service.
- French/West/Vaughan (FWV), Raleigh, has been selected by Triangle Orthopaedic Associates to develop and execute a public relations and marketing communications campaign around its recent merger and expansion. The agency also has been selected by Australian-based Caroma, a specialist and worldwide leader in water-efficient bathroom products, to increase brand exposure nationally through comprehensive consumer and trade outreach strategies.
- Oceanos Marketing has opened a regional office in Raleigh to support a rapidly expanding customer base.
- VisionPoint Marketing celebrates its sixth anniversary this year and has hired Gail Knoles as executive assistant.
- ClearImage has hired Katherine Webb as an account manager.
- Fairway Outdoor Advertising, Raleigh, has donated a $65,000 advertising package consisting of a variety of billboard and poster units throughout the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area to Duke Children’s Hospital to promote the hospital’s fundraising events.
- Market Force Inc., Raleigh, has completed a brand identity for Alamance County and has been selected by Washington County to provide comprehensive marketing and branding services, including marketing consulting, a new logo, slogan, Web site, and collateral materials.
- MicroMass Communications, Cary, has hired Jamie Cobb, formerly senior vice president and international creative director of GSW Worldwide, as executive creative director.
- Brand Fuel, Morrisville, has received the 2007 ASI Spirit Award for Best Distributor Showroom by the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI).
- SMITH, Raleigh, has hired Cristina Garner as account supervisor.
- Rockett Burkhead & Winslow (RBW), Raleigh, has been named global agency of record for CORT, a provider of residential, corporate, and commercial rental furnishings and relocation services.
- Kelly Marcom, Sanford, will develop naming, branding, messaging and marketing materials for the Fort Bragg Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Regional Task Force. The firm’s efforts with BRAC RTF will serve to showcase the 11-county region, highlighting opportunities to attract additional defense and non-defense related companies to the area.
- Alexander Marketing Services (AMS), Raleigh, has hired Barb VanderKallen as senior art director.
- Cathy Sanita, director of operations for Hummingbird Creative Group, Raleigh, has been named president of Business and Professional Women of Raleigh.
- Stop Studios, Durham, has received the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) BOOM Award for the design of The Sarah P. Duke Gardens annual report.
- Steven Rosenberg, owner of MarketPlace-Mail.com, Raleigh, has received the Toastmaster Award from Toastmaster International.
- Deborah Harvey Mathes has been hired as director of human resources for Eno River Media Production.
- Howard, Merrell & Partners, Raleigh, has appointed Elizabeth Romero senior account executive of public relations and Hispanic marketing.
- Pioneer Strategies, Raleigh, has signed a deal to provide Minding Your Matters Organizing, a Cary-based organizing firm, with public relations counsel and services.
- Julia LaDue, creative director of Hummingbird Creative Group, Raleigh, has been named programs co-chair of the board of directors for The Ad Club of the Triangle.
- Articulon, Raleigh, has appointed Michael Gauss senior account manager.
